Governor Bentley Offers $5,000 Reward in Kidnapping and Attempted Murder of Troy University Student

MONTGOMERY—Governor Bentley has issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the January 10th kidnapping and attempted murder of a Troy University student. Law enforcement officers are looking for a black male that was seen walking towards Troy late on the evening of Monday, January 10 or early Tuesday morning, January 11 in the Needmore Road area near Pike County Roads 7731 or 7735.

“It is extremely important for law enforcement officers to locate and arrest this dangerous person or persons responsible for this crime,” said Governor Bentley. “I encourage anyone with information to please come forward and work with law enforcement to solve this case and secure justice for this Troy student.”

The reward money is being combined with money already offered by the City of Troy and Troy University.
