Women In Construction Week

WHEREAS, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has distinguished itself for 58 years as the voice of women in construction; and

WHEREAS, the work NAWIC has done has benefitted the state of Alabama through community development and educational programs; and

WHEREAS, NAWIC has unceasingly promoted the employment and advancement of women in the construction industry; and

WHEREAS, the construction community, represented by NAWIC, has been a driving force in fostering community development through renovation and beautification projects, promotion of skilled trade careers and a positive vision of the future; and

WHEREAS, NAWIC has sought to achieve successful results for the state of Alabama in a cooperative spirit with other organizations:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby do proclaim the week of March 6 through March 12, 2011, as

Women In Construction Week

in the state of Alabama and thank its many dedicated volunteers for their steadfast work on behalf and in support of women in construction, and encourage citizens to congratulate the organization on its many accomplishments.
