Governor Bentley Appoints Elizabeth Hamner to Sixth Judicial Circuit of Alabama, Place Number 3

MONTGOMERY – Governor Robert Bentley has filled a vacancy for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Alabama, Place Number 3, by appointing Elizabeth Colwick Hamner to the position. Her appointment is effective immediately and will fill the vacant seat of Hershel Hamner who is retiring.

Elizabeth Colwick Hamner is currently the Deputy District Attorney in the Child Support Division in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama. In 1996, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School Of Law. 

“I am pleased to appoint Elizabeth Hamner to the Circuit Court,” said Governor Robert Bentley. “I trust that she will serve Tuscaloosa County with integrity and will preside with an abiding respect for the court and the law.”

Hamner is a member of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association. She is active in her community and serves on the Board of Directors of both the Arts and Humanities Council of Tuscaloosa County and Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter.

She and her husband, Patrick, live in Tuscaloosa.
