Alabama State Employees Recognition Week

WHEREAS, State employees are an invaluable resource to the State of Alabama; and

WHEREAS, Alabama is served by local employees in many essential areas including economic development and management, public safety, transportation, human services and the environment; and

WHEREAS, these dedicated servant leaders perform their duties with compassion, professionalism and a commitment to those they serve; and

WHEREAS, public service demands excellence, diversity and perseverance in the provision of health and human services, transportation systems, environmental protection, recreational areas and travel service, business and agricultural development, public safety and numerous support activities to ensure the well-being of the great State of Alabama; and

WHEREAS, State employees provide services with professionalism, skill and dedication that have helped Alabama develop a reputation for quality and excellence; and

WHEREAS, State employees are on duty every day, ready to render assistance to their fellow Alabama citizens in critical times of need; and

WHEREAS, the 2011 observance of State Employee Recognition Week provides a special time to express our appreciation and gratitude to our State employees for their hard work and dedication to our continued well-being and quality of life:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim May 1 through May 7, 2011, as

Alabama State Employees Recognition Week

in the State of Alabama.
