Mustang Day

WHEREAS, the Ford Mustang has been America’s number one Pony Car since its introduction on April 17, 1964, by the Ford Motor Company; and

WHEREAS, in the last 47 years over nine-million have been sold; and

WHEREAS, the Ford Mustang is the oldest consecutively produced Pony Car by any manufacturer; and

WHEREAS, the Tri-County Mustang Club is a chartered Alabama non-profit organization supporting the counties of Montgomery, Elmore and Autauga; and

WHEREAS, on April 16, 2011, the Mustang will celebrate its 47th anniversary of production; and

WHEREAS this celebration will be showcased at various events across the State of Alabama, highlighting all years and models of the Ford Mustang:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim Sunday, April 17, 2011, as

Mustang Day

in the State of Alabama and do hereby extend my sincerest best wishes for a successful event.
