Alabama High School All-Star Week
WHEREAS, the State of Alabama supports the concept of the student athlete and the benefits that athletic programs provide for the youth of our state; and
WHEREAS, Montgomery will be the host city for the fifteenth annual Alabama All-Star Sports Week, July 11 through July 15, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Alabama All-Star Sports Week will include eight all-star games in six sports, including boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, football, softball, baseball and volleyball; and
WHEREAS, clinics will be offered during the week to not only the coaches of the previously mentioned sports, but track and field, cheerleading, swimming and wrestling; and
WHEREAS, clinics will also be offered to athletic directors and principals to enhance instructional and professional development; and
WHEREAS, over 350 students are expected to participate in the week’s activities; and
WHEREAS, the activities will culminate in a sports competition between the northern and southern regions of the state; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim July 11 through July 15, 2011, as
Alabama High School All-Star Week
in the state of the Alabama.
