Disability Professionals Week

WHEREAS, our physically and mentally challenged citizens deserve varied services to help them achieve their full potential; and

WHEREAS, professionals in the field of disability display respect, sensitivity and knowledge in their dealings with persons who are physically and mentally challenged; and

WHEREAS, the goal of these professionals is to assist persons with disabilities in acquiring self-reliance and independence; and

WHEREAS, these professionals are to be commended for their contributions to the health and well-being of the disabled citizens of our state:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim June 13 through June 17, 2011, as

Disability Professionals Week

in the state of the Alabama and urge all Alabamians to recognize the vital services provided by this group of professionals.
