Governor Bentley Fills District Judge Vacancy in Etowah County

MONTGOMERY—. Governor Robert Bentley has filled a vacancy for Etowah County District Judge by appointing Will Clay to the position. Clay replaces the former Etowah County District Judge Wayne Owen who retired after 28 years of service on the bench.

Will Clay is currently a practicing attorney in Gadsden. He is 1978 graduate of Auburn University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Building Science from the School of Architecture. Clay received his Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law in 1995.

“I am very pleased to appoint Will Clay as the new District Judge of Etowah County,” said Governor Robert Bentley. “He brings a wealth of experience to this position and a strong commitment to his community, which will enable him to serve the citizens of Etowah County well.”

Will Clay is a member of the Alabama Bar Association. An active member of his Gadsden community, he currently serves a member of the Gadsden Kiwanis Club, and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee.

He and his wife, Jacque, have three sons and reside in Sardis City.
