National EMS Memorial Service Day

WHEREAS, each year Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Providers give medical care to millions of people, imparting a vital service to their communities across America; and

WHEREAS, each year EMS Providers sacrifice their lives while serving their communities; and

WHEREAS, the National EMS Memorial Service honors the men and women of America’s Emergency Medical Services who have given their lives in the line of duty; and

WHEREAS, the National EMS Memorial Service has honored over 500 EMS providers from 49 states and territories; and

WHEREAS, this year the National EMS Memorial Service will honor 43 EMS providers from Alabama and 17 other states:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim June 25, 2011, as

National EMS Memorial Service Day

in the State of the Alabama, and urge all citizens to remember these brave individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our state and nation.
