Governor Bentley’s Legislative Director Accepts New Position

MONTGOMERY – Governor Robert Bentley today announced that his Legislative Director, Allison Bell, has accepted a position as Senior Government Affairs Representative for Arizona Public Service, the largest electric utility in Arizona.

Prior to joining Governor Bentley’s staff in January, Bell, an Alabama native, had previously worked in governmental relations in Arizona.  She was the Lead In-House Lobbyist for the Arizona Chamber of Commerce where she oversaw the Chamber’s legislative agenda at the state level and managed its public and political affairs programs. In that role, she was the liaison for the Arizona Small Business Association and the Arizona Manufacturers Council, the Chamber’s Strategic Partners.

“I appreciate Allison’s service to the citizens of Alabama and her dedication to my administration,” said Governor Robert Bentley. “The 2011 Legislative Session is one of the most successful in state history. I want to thank Allison for the contribution she made to that success and to the people of this state. She has a wonderful opportunity waiting for her in Arizona and I wish her all the best.”

“I want thank Governor Bentley for allowing me to serve in his administration. It has been a true honor and a privilege,” said Allison Bell. “It is with a heavy heart that I leave the Governor’s administration but I look forward to returning to Arizona to begin work with Arizona Public Service. Governor Bentley has a great vision and passion for the citizens of Alabama and I leave knowing that the great work he had started will continue.”

Bell’s resignation is effective Tuesday, July 5.
