International Space Camp 2011

WHEREAS, International Space Camp® was established to promote the advancement of all mankind through international cooperation in space science education; and

WHEREAS, the educator program at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center® is recognized internationally as an outstanding professional development session for teachers; and

WHEREAS, the 2011 session of International SPACE CAMP is scheduled for July 23 through July 28; and

WHEREAS, this session marks the twentieth year that the Teachers of the Year from across the United States and its territories and the National Teacher of the Year have participated; and

WHEREAS, this session of International Space Camp welcomes participants from twelve international locations; and

WHEREAS, this educational program will focus on the U. S. Space Program and the related studies of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM):

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as the official site for

International Space Camp 2011

in the State of the Alabama.
