National Farm City Week

WHEREAS, farm city, American farmers and ranchers help feed the world by producing a bounty of agricultural products; and

WHEREAS, this bounty is reliant on the essential partnerships between urban and rural communities to supply, sell and deliver finished products across the country and around the globe; and

WHEREAS, the partnerships between rural and urban communities have allowed our nation to fully utilize its rich natural resources, contributing to the health and well being of our country and the strength of our economy; and

WHEREAS, farm city collaborations help maintain and increase our nation’s food and fiber supply and improve the quality of life for countless citizens; and

WHEREAS, during National Farm City Week, it is important to recognize the value of this cooperative network and the successful partnership between rural and urban workers, who continue to play a vital role in the future of our nation:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim November 18 through 24, 2011, as

National Farm City Week

in the State of Alabama.
