Health Information and Technology Week

WHEREAS, in this ever more complicated medical world, ensuring that a patient’s accurate, in-depth records make their way to the right doctor in a timely fashion is critically important; and

WHEREAS, providing support, representation and training to professionals within the healthcare industry, the American Health Information Management Association has taken leadership in this important area, seeking to improve the state of medical record-keeping through initiatives, training and awareness campaigns; and

WHEREAS, as part of their current efforts, November 6 through November 12, 2011 has been designated for a campaign to increase to awareness about Health Information Management; and

WHEREAS, it is important for citizens to educate themselves about having accurate health care information in order prior to a medical crisis:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim November 6 through November 12, 2011, as

Health Information and Technology Week

in the State of the Alabama.
