The Bank of York’s 100th Anniversary
WHEREAS, it is with great pride and pleasure that The Bank of York, York, Alabama is recognized upon the occasion of their 100th anniversary which officially occurs on December 14, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Alabama State Banking Department is honored to share 2011 as our 100th anniversary year with the Bank of York; and
WHEREAS, the Bank of York, was first chartered in December of 1911, the 14th charter to be issued by the Alabama State Banking Department; and
WHEREAS, it is the oldest bank still in existence with the same name since its formation 100 years ago; and
WHEREAS, the Bank of York is the oldest and only locally owned bank operating in Sumter County Alabama; and
WHEREAS, the Bank of York is an asset and proven corporate partner to the Sumter County community; and
WHEREAS, the Bank of York is blessed with outstanding, dedicated and hardworking employees, management and directors:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim December 14, 2011, as
The Bank of York’s 100th Anniversary
in the State of Alabama.
