2012 Miss Indian Alabama

WHEREAS, American Indian history and culture are an integral part of Alabama’s history and culture; and

WHEREAS, today our American Indian population remains vibrant and active in Alabama; and

WHEREAS, our nine state-recognized tribes carry forth to present day their Indian history and culture through their many festivals and gatherings held annually through the State; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that on November 18, 2011, the Sixth Annual Miss Indian Alabama Competition was held at the State Capitol Auditorium, where Anna Cole, Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama, was selected to represent Alabama’s American Indian people:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby commend

Miss Anna Cole

and recognize her as the 2012 Miss Indian Alabama.
