Women In Construction Week

WHEREAS, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) consists of approximately 5,500 members who are actively employed in various phases of the construction industry; and

WHEREAS, NAWIC seeks to enhance the success of women in the construction industry; and

WHEREAS, NAWIC seeks to promote cooperation, fellowship and a better understanding among members of the association; and

WHEREAS, NAWIC further seeks to encourage women to pursue and establish their careers in the construction industry, provide them with an awareness of the legislative process and legislation as it relates to the construction industry; and

WHEREAS, NAWIC has chapters in Birmingham and Montgomery that are involved in the service to their industry and to their respective cities:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby do proclaim the week of March 4 through March 10, 2012, as

in the state of Alabama.
