Doctors’ Day

WHEREAS, communities across the state of Alabama owe a debt of gratitude to physicians for their commitment, dedication and personal sacrifice; and

WHEREAS, the physicians in Alabama continue to play a vital and significant role in enhancing the quality of life for the residents of our great state; and

WHEREAS, in keeping with the proclamation established in 1991 by President George W.H. Bush, March 30, 2012 is designated as Doctors’ Day; and

WHEREAS, as stated in the original Doctors’ Day proclamation – “More than the application of science and technology, medicine is a special calling, and those who have chosen this vocation in order to serve their fellow man understand the tremendous responsibility it entails” – the physicians in the state of Alabama are honored on this day:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim March 30, 2012, as

Doctors’ Day

in the state of Alabama.
