Tennis Week
WHEREAS, tennis is known as the sport for a lifetime, an international game played and enjoyed by millions worldwide; and
WHEREAS, tennis is a family sport, which provides recreation, physical fitness and good sportsmanship for people all over the world; and
WHEREAS, over the years, many of our young southern college players have been selected by the State Department of the United States to represent our country on tours throughout the world, and have been proven to be excellent ambassadors of good will; and
WHEREAS, the state of Alabama is privileged to have The Blue Gray National Collegiate Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Alabama:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim the week of March 11 through March 17, 2013, as
Tennis Week
in the state of Alabama and urge all tennis enthusiasts to attend and enjoy this National Tennis Championship and to participate actively themselves in playing the great game of tennis as often as possible for better physical fitness and good health.
