Public Safety Telecommunicator Week
WHEREAS, public safety telecommunicators are an essential entity that provide emergency support and communication in the public safety community; and
WHEREAS, by providing 24-hour service, telecommunicators are the first contact between our citizens and their need for a public safety response; and
WHEREAS, telecommunicators are the communications link that monitors, dispatches and provides information to law enforcement, fire and rescue and emergency medical responders; and
WHEREAS, telecommunicators are trained and dedicated to take the necessary and appropriate action to assist public safety needs; and
WHEREAS, telecommunicators are responsible individuals who respond to telephone calls from the general public and dispatch assistance that saves lives and the property of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, telecommunicators are to be recognized for their loyalty and support to assist in emergency and non-emergency situations:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim the week of April 14 through April 20, 2013, as
Public Safety Telecommunicator Week
in the state of Alabama.
