Severe Weather Awareness Week

WHEREAS, the citizens of the State of Alabama have suffered significant effects from severe weather during the primary and secondary severe weather season over the years; and

WHEREAS, preparedness planning and increased public awareness of the dangers of severe weather and the proper protective actions have shown to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities from these storms; and

WHEREAS, to draw attention to the need for Alabamians to be vigilant and prepared for the 2014 primary spring severe weather season, The National Weather Service, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and local Emergency Management Agencies across the state hereby urge all citizens to review their personal safety measures during severe weather including their ability to receive weather warnings in a timely fashion:
