Alcazar Shrine Temple Day

WHEREAS, ALCAZAR Shrine Temple has 1,000 members located throughout the state of Alabama, and combined with 200 Temples with 190,000 Shriners worldwide, represents several countries; and

WHEREAS, Alcazar Temple is comprised of Shriners who are dedicated to more than themselves and who want to help the community grow and prosper by helping those most in need – children; and

WHEREAS, Alcazar Temple supports 22 Shrine Hospitals providing medical services annually to more than 125,000 children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, reconstructive plastic surgery for craniofacial and sports injuries regardless of their families’ ability to pay; and

WHEREAS, in 2014, Alcazar Temple celebrates its 100th year of compassionate family centered support and, to this day, Alcazar Temple remains true to its vision to the community, its members, and the Shrine Hospitals and especially its patients as a stable, thriving, non-profit organization in Alabama:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of the State of Alabama, do hereby proclaim April 5, 2014, as

Alcazar Shrine Temple Day

in the state of the Alabama, and I urge my fellow citizens to contribute their time and efforts in assisting others through community service.
