Public Health Week

WHEREAS, the Alabama Public Health Association, Inc., aspires to be a recognized leader and key resource on public health issues and policy in Alabama and a clearinghouse for public health education with a broad and diverse membership of citizens and organizations; and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Public Health Association strives to promote the education of its members together with the public on public health issues; and

WHEREAS, the 58th Annual Alabama Public Health Association Annual Health Education Conference will be held April 9 through April 11, 2014, on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham; and

WHEREAS, the conference is being held in partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, the Alabama Environmental Health Association, and the Southern Health Association during National Public Health Week; and

WHEREAS, this year’s conference theme is “Public Health Partnerships: Working Together Today for a Healthier Tomorrow;” and

WHEREAS, a vast cadre of speakers from around the state and nation will address conference attendees on a variety of public health topics:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of the State of Alabama, do hereby proclaim April 7 through April 13, 2014, as

Public Health Week

in the state of Alabama.
