Public Health Week

WHEREAS, the Alabama Public Health Association, Inc., aspires to be a recognized leader and key resource on public health issues and policy in Alabama and a clearinghouse for public health education with a broad and diverse membership of citizens and organizations; and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Public Health Association strives to promote the education of its members together with the public on public health issues; and

WHEREAS, the 59th Annual Alabama Public Health Association Annual Health Education Conference will be held April 8 through April 10, 2015, in downtown Montgomery during National Public Health Week; and

WHEREAS, this year’s conference theme is “The Future Is Now: Are You Ready?” and will address conference attendees on a variety of public health topics that include leadership development, career planning, team building, cultural diversity in tribal communities, and workplace safety; and

WHEREAS, National Public Health Week 2015 has as its theme “Healthiest Nation 2030” to help realize the goal of making the U.S. the healthiest nation in one generation – by the year 2030:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of the State of Alabama, do hereby proclaim April 6 through April 12, 2015, as

in the state of Alabama.
