Adrenal Disease Awareness Month
WHEREAS, Adrenal disease, Primary Adrenal Insufficiency in particular, are devastating, rare, life-long, and at times fatal illnesses; and
WHEREAS, Adrenal diseases effect the “fight or flight” response, blood pressure, blood sugar, hormones and the body’s response to illness, injury, stress and inflammation; and
WHEREAS, although a cure for Adrenal disease has not yet been found, individuals with these illnesses can live long lives through accurate diagnosis, and the appropriate medical guidance and education for life-long management; and
WHEREAS, support groups such as the Alabama Adrenal Disease Support Group are dedicating efforts to advocate for education, and support to all persons with or who suspect Adrenal disease; and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Adrenal Disease Support Group is dedicated to the cause of awareness and educating families, medical professionals and the general public to be made aware and to be able to recognize these as physical and life-long illnesses:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim the month of April 2015, as
Adrenal Disease Awareness Month
in the state of Alabama.
