Governor Bentley Praises Final Passage of Senate Bill 76

MONTGOMERY—Governor Robert Bentley on Thursday praised final passage of Senate Bill 76.  The Governor’s statement is below.

“Four years ago, we embarked on an ambitious goal to right size government, make it operate more efficiently and save taxpayer dollars wherever we could.  SB76 is another important component of our efforts to streamline government.  Last year, I commissioned a study to optimize the management of the State’s real property. The solution will allow for the centralization of the management of this property into a singular division in the Department of Finance, saving millions of taxpayer dollars as the legislation is implemented.  I appreciate the Alabama Legislature, especially co-sponsors Pro Tem Del Marsh and State Representative Mike Hill, for supporting this legislation and giving final passage to the bill today.  After a thorough legal review, I intend to sign SB76 into law.”
