Concrete Pipe Week

WHEREAS, reinforced concrete pipe and precast are of vital importance to sustainable communities and to the health, safety and well-being of the people of Alabama and,

WHEREAS, such reinforced concrete pipe and precast products and services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of the concrete pipe and precast industry manufacturers, professionals, engineers, managers and employees, who are responsible for and must design, manufacture, distribute, educate and supply precast concrete pipe and precast to public and private owners, who build, design and maintain our transportation infrastructure, water supply, water treatment systems, solid waste systems, and other structures and facilities essential to serve our citizens; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the public interest for the citizens, civic leaders and children in the United States of America to gain knowledge of and to maintain a progressive interest and understand the importance of the reinforced concrete pipe and precast industry in their respective communities,

WHEREAS, 2015 is the 101^st year of the American Concrete Pipe Association and the first year of National Concrete Pipe Week:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim August 16-20, 2015 as

Concrete Pipe Week

in the State of Alabama and I urge all our people to join with representatives of the Alabama Chapter of the American Concrete Pipe Association in activities and ceremonies designed to pay tribute to our concrete pipe and precast industry manufactures, professionals, engineers, managers and employees and to recognize the substantial contributions they have made to our national health, safety, welfare and quality of life.
