Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama

WHEREAS, United Launch Alliance (ULA) is America’s Ride to Space; and

WHEREAS, ULA has a state-of-the-art launch vehicle factory in Decatur where it manufactures the mighty Atlas V and Delta IV rockets; and

WHEREAS, ULA launches missions to space aboard its Atlas and Delta rockets that protect our nation, expand mankind’s reach into the universe and enable technologies that improve life on earth, and soon will begin launching our nation’s next generation of astronauts; and

WHEREAS, ULA on October 2, 2015, launched its 100th consecutive, successful mission to space in less than 9 years – the Morelos-3 mission for Mexico – an enviable launch rate of nearly one per month; and

WHEREAS, ULA is the only American company to achieve 100 consecutive, successful launches. ULA’s Atlas and Delta launch vehicles continue to be the only ones capable of launching all of the nation’s most critical missions; and

WHEREAS, since forming in 2006, ULA has cut the cost of launch in half; and

WHEREAS, ULA’s innovations continue to move the space launch industry forward, including the use of additive manufacturing, propulsion technology and developing the new generation Vulcan rocket, set to launch in 2019:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim October 19, 2015, as

United Launch Alliance Day

in the State of Alabama.
