Week for the Animals

Proclamation

By the Governor of Alabama

WHEREAS, pet population continues to be a problem in Alabama and across the United States; and

WHEREAS, great animal shelters provide progressive programs to help improve the animals in need; and

WHEREAS, Alabama Week for the Animals brings together organizations, schools, and agencies across Alabama to help celebrate the joy, love and service that animals bring to their lives; and

WHEREAS, spaying and neutering pets and adopting animals from shelters and humane societies are important ways to address the problem of pet overpopulation; and

WHEREAS, the year 2016 will mark the 7th Annual Week for the Animals in Alabama:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim March 26 through April 3, 2016, as

Week for the Animals

in the State of Alabama.
