Governor Bentley Declares State of Emergency Due to Widespread Power Outages

MONTGOMERY—Governor Robert Bentley on Friday declared a State of Emergency for Alabama due to widespread power outages.

The State of Emergency will facilitate in the granting of a waiver from the U.S. Department of Transportation  – Federal Motor Carrier Administration. This waiver is needed as power restoration crews will be requested from other states. The State of Emergency is effective June 17, 2016 through June 21, 2016 unless sooner terminated.
