Governor Bentley Signs Executive Order 25; Names Seven Judges Who Will Constitute the Special Supreme Court
MONTGOMERY – Governor Bentley on Monday signed Executive Order Number 25. This executive order names, as Associate Justices, the seven judges who will constitute the Special Supreme Court that will hear the appeal of Chief Justice Roy S. Moore.
On Thursday, October 27, 2016, the Alabama Supreme Court drew names of judges from a pool of retired appellate justices and judges, retired circuit court judges and district court judges. The clerk of the Alabama Supreme Court then provided the names to the Governor of the seven judges selected and willing to serve.
