Dental Assistants Recognition Week
Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama
WHEREAS, the health of all Americans depends upon educated minds and trained hands; and
WHEREAS, the practice of modern dentistry at the exacting standards we now enjoy would be impossible without the clinical and administrative duties performed daily in the dentist office; and
WHEREAS, the Alabama State Society of American Medical Technologists is one of 39 active state chapters of AMT throughout the United States that affords individuals the opportunity to become a certified Dental Assistant; and
WHEREAS, a Dental Assistant is an integral member of the dental health team, competent via education, experience, and understanding of patient welfare; and
WHEREAS, the Dental Assistant is qualified to provide support in administrative duties: chair side, laboratory, and radiological procedures, as defined by existing state laws; and
WHEREAS, as an agent of the Dentist, the Dental Assistant strives to cultivate good will and confidence within the dental practice; and
WHEREAS, Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. These multi-skilled professionals help create a professional and comforting atmosphere for patients by offering them guidance and support; and
WHEREAS, through this dedication the Dental Assistants of the United States have made a vital contribution to the quality of dental care; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Bentley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim the week of March 5th, through March 11th, 2017, as
Dental Assistants Recognition Week
in the State of Alabama.
